NBPD detectives investigate theft of $1M+ of medical equipment leading to the arrest of six and complete recovery

Newport Beach Police were working an ongoing burglary case involving multiple storage lockers, which escalated when a suspect retrieved medical equipment left outside the storage unit facility gate.

On Tuesday, March 15, at approximately 7:45 p.m., NBPD patrol officers were dispatched to the area of Campus Drive and Bristol Street North for a possible in-progress burglary at a storage facility located there. Previously, there had been a burglary involving the theft of $1.5 million-worth of medical equipment and the security company on site was on the lookout for suspicious activity.

When officers arrived, they were able to take two suspects into custody without incident. The suspects had burglary tools on their person and in their vehicle. A further investigation revealed that both were, in fact, two of the suspects who had previously stolen the medical equipment.

The arrest also led detectives to a storage unit in Lake Forest where the suspects were keeping the recently stolen property. Detectives were able to recover all of the stolen property.

Detectives continued to work on the investigation, which led to a search warrant and the eventual arrest of four additional suspects, where detectives recovered additional stolen property and narcotics.

Arrested were Erlan Aligato Manosa Jr., 29, of Laguna Hills, for possession of a controlled substance; Sean Cornelius Santos Cabalquinto, 38 of Newport Beach, arrested on two counts for receiving stolen property with a value over $950; Fayeann Vergara Dimailig, 31, of Los Angeles, arrested for grand theft; Samer Aziz Doumit, 21, of Missouri, arrested for unlawful possession of paraphernalia and for identity theft; Alexander Bryce Posa, 21, of Vista, arrested for unlawful possession of paraphernalia and Christian Joseph Catibog Coro, 30, of Newport Beach, arrested for grand theft from buildings.

Catibog Coro had bail set at $1,000,000.
